General FAQ

  • What payment methods do you accept?

    We accept payment from all major debit or credit cards, as well as payments made by PayPal.

  • I have models I want to sell, do you purchase collections?

    Yes, we purchase collections. Send details of what you have using the contact us form, along with a rough estimate of how much you’d like for the collection, and we might just take them off your hands!

    Send us as many details as you can for the collection, we always love to hear the story of the models. Don’t forget to include the condition of the models and any photographs.

  • What is your privacy policy?

    We never share your name, email, or contact information with anyone – ever! If you sign up for the Diecast Models 4 U newsletter, you can opt out at any time.

Shipping & Delivery

  • How much does shipping cost?

    Ireland Delivery: Standard Delivery (3-5 working days) – €4.95 or free when you spend €130 or over.

    International Delivery: Europe Standard Delivery (10-14 Working Days) – €20

  • Where do you ship products to?

    We ship both nationally to any county in Ireland, and internationally throughout Europe.

  • Do you ship internationally?

    Yes! International orders ship via the postal service.

    You may incur import duties or other customs fees depending on your country of residence.

    We can’t keep track of these, and are not responsible if your order gets held up in customs.

    If you do not see your country available in the shipping options, please send us an email.

  • Will my parcel be charged additional custom and import charges?

    Custom and Import charges are charged once an item has arrived in its destination country. Unfortunately, we have no control over what these charges are, as Custom and Import policies vary from country to country.

    We would advise that you find out what these charges may be before you place your order. Custom or Import Charges are not applicable for orders within Ireland.

  • How long will it take to receive my parcel?

    While we do our best to ensure you receive your parcel in a timely manner, delivery will take on average 3-5 working days from the time you place your order.

  • When will I receive my order?

    While we do our best to ensure you receive your parcel in a timely manner, delivery will take on average 3-5 working days from the time you place your order.

  • What do I do if I never received my order?

    Please allow 10 working days after placing your order before contacting us to report an undelivered order. If your order has not arrived in this time frame please contact our customer service team at [email] and include your order number, so we can take a closer look and help with a solution!

  • My item arrived damaged, what should I do?

    We are very aware that the box is as important as the model, so we take particular care when packing orders to ensure neither model nor box gets damaged.

    However, as the products are very fragile occasionally they may incur damage in transit, if this happens please send a photo to our Team at [email] and include your order number, so we can take a closer look and help with a solution!

  • Can I make changes to an order I’ve already placed?

    Once you have placed an order with us our team work hard to make sure we are promptly starting to pack and process your order, therefore once you are charged we are unable to interfere with this process and make any amendments.

Refunds & Returns

  • Can I return a product?

    Yes, we do accept returns, however, if 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

    To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

    Non-returnable items: Gift cards.

    To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

  • What is your returns policy

  • Where is my refund?

    Depending on your card issuer your refund will land in your account within 5 working days.

    If it’s been over 14 working days since you requested a refund, and you have still not received your refund, please get in touch with us and include your order number.

    A member of our Customer Service team will get back to you as soon as possible.

Products

  • What does 1:18 scale mean?

    1:18 scale means that the model you are looking at is 18 times smaller than the vehicle you would see on the road.

    Similarly, a 1:24 model is 24 times smaller than the vehicle on the road. The larger the number in scale, the smaller the model you will receive.

    At present the smallest model we stock is a 1:76 scale (76 times smaller than the vehicle you see on the road) and is typically used for train dioramas.

  • Can I order something that’s not in stock on the website?

    Unfortunately if a product is out of stock online it is no longer available for purchase.

    However, if you are looking for a particular model, get in contact and let us know what you’re looking for.

    We’re always happy to help and if possible we will source the model for you.

  • Do you make your own models?

    No, we do not make our own models. All models and model kits are sourced from manufacturers and wholesalers that we partner with. We also purchase pre-owned collections.

  • Can I get a model altered/modified to my specifications?

    Yes, we can arrange to have most of the models on our website altered to meet your specifications.

    This will incur an extra charge which may vary depending on the model and alterations required.

Your Account

  • Do I need to set up an account to make an order?

    Yes, you will need to sign up/login into your Diecast Models 4 U account in order to place an order.

  • I’m having trouble signing in to my account, what should I do?

    Please try resetting your password initially through the ‘forgot password’ link.

    If this still doesn’t work please contact our Customer Service team with your account details, and we’ll try and help!

  • Forgot your password

    If you can’t remember your password, you can simply click the ‘forgot password’ link under the sign-in form.

    You will be sent an email containing a link to set a new password. If you haven’t received the reset password link please check your spam/junk folder first.

    If you find you still haven’t received an email please contact us directly, and we will look into this for you.

    Yes! We accept all major credit & debit cards in store.

  • What are your opening hours?

    We are open 7 days a week!
